The Story Behind The Long Shot

Oakville is a great city. What it was missing, until 2025, was an indoor sports venue that worked for the whole community — particularly for the large South Asian population in Halton Region who wanted a place to play cricket, eat halal food, and bring their families without compromise.

That gap is what The Long Shot Inc. was built to fill.

Founded by Manaan, a longtime Oakville resident and sports enthusiast, The Long Shot opened in 2025 at 450 South Service Rd W. The idea was simple: put a cricket cage, batting cages, billiards tables, and ping pong under one roof, add a proper halal kitchen, and make it accessible to everyone — families, friends, corporate groups, and competitive players.

Manaan has been part of Oakville’s community for years. A cricket fan and sports enthusiast who noticed a genuine gap in what the city offered — especially for families who needed halal food and cricket at the same venue. He built The Long Shot to solve that problem directly.

What We Stand For

Accessible Sports: Cricket in Oakville used to mean driving to Mississauga or Toronto. The Long Shot’s cricket cage is open year-round for anyone who wants to play, practice, or just try it for the first time.

Real Halal: Not “halal options available.” Every item on our menu is halal. No alcohol is served — making us accessible for Muslim families and groups with mixed dietary needs.

Genuinely Family-Friendly: Ages 8 to 80 have fun here. The batting cage machine goes slow enough for kids. The billiards tables work for every generation. The cricket cage brings families together.
